ChatNap is an extension that stops Zombie Prompting

By interrupting AI visits, ChatNap wakes you up to make sure you’re the one doing the thinking.

It isn’t anti-AI, it’s anti-mindless AI.

Set a limit. Get interrupted. Explain your task. Get roasted. Decide if AI is the best tool.

Why I built this

During my MBA, I discovered the enormous potential of AI. From helping to synthesize complex research to creating accounting practice exams, it was a lifesaver.

But as someone with ADHD and OCD, AI went far beyond a simple learning tool. It allowed me to understand projects my brain moved too fast to organize, concepts too nebulous to Google, and solve side quests I’d spent years pursuing fruitlessly.

And in the process, it also became a crutch. Instead of researching, I dumped in piles of disorganized data. Instead of learning, I built workaround GPTs that decreased my retention. And instead of doing my best, LLMs exacerbated that OCD-level of perfectionism, allowing me to chase the dragon that everything could be optimized a little bit better. A little bit smarter. A little bit faster.

I thought, “How can AI augment human potential while seeming to make us all dumber?

I don’t have an answer, so instead I built ChatNap, a Chrome and Firefox extension to help us all prompt a bit more intentionally. And, in the process, hopefully rebuild the mental pathways required to write an email.
